One of the deadliest and the most destructive natural disasters to hit the Philippines is Typhoon Haiyan, known in the country locally as Typhoon Yolanda. The terrifying winds and storm surge that the typhoon unleashed is nightmarish, and it destroyed thousands of settlements across the Visayas Group of Islands. George Secker was witnessing the onslaught on television when it happened in November 2013, and because of the apocalyptic destruction that he saw, George Secker decided to visit the Philippines and help those who have lost their homes. George Secker immediately went to the Philippines and had since worked with several individuals who would be giving him updates about his project for the victims, called the George Secker Foundation Village. After the initial ceremonies, he went back to the United States and focused on his businesses that aim to empower small-time entrepreneurs and to encourage them to enter the market.
Recently, George Secker went back to the Philippines for the turnover ceremony. He tagged with him Nonito Donaire, a famous Filipino boxer who promised that he would be going with George Secker when the construction of the houses ends. After landing in Manila, George Secker had to ride another plane that will be taking him to Iloilo Province where his village is located. Upon reaching the site of the village, he felt delighted and surprised. The local people thanked him for his assistance, and as George Secker turns over 100 keys for the houses that were built, he started thanking everyone who is involved with the project. After the ceremony, George Secker has to go back to the United States to oversee the operations of his business, called Learn to Trade.
Learn to Trade is a downloaded online application which provides a real-time update on the status of all the stocks being traded in the stock market. The hard work and perseverance of Secker paid off as more than 200,000 people are now using the program that he created. George Secker also claimed that he will be donating more houses for the people and that he will be asking for sponsorship from the American public.
