Boraie Development Builds More than Just Buildings; It Builds Communities

According to an article published on the New Jersey Stage website the State Theatre of New Brunswick, New Jersey offered a Free Summer Movie Series in 2016. Community members were able to view six different movies for free throughout the season including popular Disney and Pixar films.

The historic State Theatre offered a 46 inch Stewart film screen, Barco projector, projections in HD, and digital surround sound. This was no “cheap theatre” experience, but a real treat for people of all ages.

The Free Movie Series was part of a larger Community Access Initiative. Through this initiative, the State Theatre hoped to provide access to entertainment at its venue with no cost to local community members. Thus, people in all financial situations could enjoy the beauty of the New Brunswick landmark. The theatre was able to offer this series due in part to the generosity of Boraie Development. According to NYTimes, Boraie Development is a company that serves the urban real estate market. Manta.com reports that Boraie Development currently employs 35 people and has an annual revenue over $9 million. Their Facebook Page boasts a meager following. Yet this small company has had a tremendous impact on New Brunswick. In the 1970s, New Brunswick suffered neglect of real estate properties and a transient population. Omar Boraie wished to renew the like certain parts of Europe, he told Tom Bergeron of the NJ Biz. People thought he was crazy. But Boraie purchased vacant properties anyway, and set out on his mission of urban-renewal.

The Aspire is one of Boraie’s crowing achievements in the city. In early 2015, Boraie told NJspotlight that he had already received a great deal of interest from potential tenants for the luxury housing development. His next project was a commercial site on Albany Street. Boraie hoped to attract biological and tech companies to New Brunswick. He believed such companies would benefit from being so close to Rutgers University. Visit Central Jersey Working Moms to know more.

Many real estate companies are simply interested in profit. Boraie Development is not one of these companies. Omar Boraie has demonstrated the company’s commitment to the New Brunswick community, and the city is better for it. Perhaps other companies can learn from his example and use their influence to change communities for the better.
